The limits of the balance and the harmony

 Artistic Step(Initiative) of Éliane Blain-Durand

For a long time , she evolved in a cultural universe. From the age of seven , violin in the hand then, some years later, by singing, the music is her first means of artistic expression. One thing leading to another or of note in note, its musical universe falls over towards the theatrical universe. Several years of practice in theater succeed one another then. But  the life proposes her a bend and she chooses to revise the way she expresses herself, of adopts new mediums of creation.

And so she arrives at painting.  At first with the acrylic, then with mixed media. Fascinated, she dashes in a spontaneous and eclectic way in the discovery of the material and the color into a constant research process. Of the representational practice in the abstraction, its first concern is to be allowed guide by the material. We say about her work that it is audacious and creative. Lines and curves, fluid or nervous, pave the way in the explosion of the color which arouse the feelings by textures, colors and the volumes. She chose to express herself through mixed techniques sometimes integrating it organic matters or recycling.

We can note the presence of recurring subjects in her work. At first, the characters (that she considers to be a part of her theatrical inheritance) as well as all their universes of feelings which express themselves in the abstraction. In another order of ideas, she likes considering that the material is a subject in itself.

Rocked by the music of her childhood, the characters of her life of theater, she hopes, by her painting , to succeed in communicating the pleasure to go through sinuous roads of the creation, in the limits of the balance and the harmony...

Where will it lead her ? Farthest possible in her exploration of the limits of the material. The passion for the research to push away the plastic limits became hers. She chooses to be allowed flow into this creative vein, to hang on to it, to make her expression.
